The clocks have gone back and the darker evenings are creeping in. But, the sun is shining and we’re all embracing the bright, autumn sunshine and crunchy leaves beneath our feet. October saw yet more families enjoy THHN holidays and, as ever, we’ve got all sorts of things going on and people to thank this month.

NEWS

THHN Shop/Hub

Last month we told you about our new Shop/Hub where there’s currently loads of work going on behind the scenes. What we need now is lots of great things to sell and would really appreciate any children’s books, clothes or toys that you and your family no longer need or want. We also need volunteers to help man the shop. We’re a very friendly bunch and would love to hear from you even if you only have a few hours to spare a week. If you think you might be interested or have some bits and pieces for us to sell please e-mail carolanne@thhn.co.uk .

Variety Show

An amazing night of entertainment has been lined up for a show on Saturday 28 February at the Rainbow Hotel in Torquay. Your host for the evening will be the terrific Tank Sherman. With close-up magic from Peter Baffles to start the evening the acts include Keedie, Sean Perry, Carolynn May, Mike Samuels, Gasoline Alley, Abba Tribute, Yours in Harmony, Supreme Dream, Becky Bennett, Stewart Masters. As if all of that wasn’t enough, there will be a disco until the early hours as well as an auction and raffle with some fantastic prizes on offer.

We know what you’re thinking – book me in! Tickets are now available from the wonderful Bob Vaughan so either e-mail him at bob.Vaughan@btinternet.com or give him a call on 07941 571318.

THHN Running Gear

We’re pretty proud of the running gear we have and we think you’ll agree that Team THHN usually stand out from the crowd at events. We’ve just added to the range and our new micro shorts are now available to pre-order (£15 per pair). One word of warning however, as they’re micro shorts you may need to order a size larger than usual – no offence 🙂 Requirements should be e-mailed to carolanne@thhn.co.uk

City to Sea 53

Talking of running, back in September we told you about the exciting new event we have planned for next year called City to Sea 53. Well, it’s all systems go and it won’t be long before we have the booking system up and running and ready to accept applications. We’ve had loads of interest so far and we can’t wait to get people booked in. We’ve also set up a Facebook page for the event at https://www.facebook.com/citytosea53 so please have a look, maybe give it a “Like” and help us spread the word about what will be a very exciting day on Saturday 5 September 2015.

Keep Calm, she’s only 40!

As you know, people are often coming up with wonderful and innovative ways of raising money for us. Well, here’s a great one. It was Zoe Harris’s 39th birthday in August and she decided that throughout her 40th year she would undertake 40 challenges so asked friends to nominate a charity that she could raise money for. Her friends had lots of great ideas and Zoe is now doing all sorts of things to fundraise for 3 great charities, one of which is the THHN. What a lovely idea. To visit Zoe’s page go to www.justgiving.com Thank you so much Zoe and have a great 40th year!
